Job summary

Plante Moran is seeking an intern to support tax services. You will assist with state and local tax work, prepare returns, and craft alerts on current tax developments. You will gain exposure across service lines while developing technical skills and client-facing experience.

The role emphasizes growth, mentoring, and hands-on projects, with travel as needed and a learning-first culture at the firm.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting or a master's in accounting/tax.
Completed the first two entry-level accounting courses and enrolled in the first intermediate course.
Academic success with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Must be pursuing a CPA license; LLM/JD eligibility noted.
Some travel may be required locally, nationally, and occasionally internationally.

Responsibilities

Provide tax consulting for state and local taxes (income, franchise, sales/use, gross receipts, personal property).
Prepare state and local income and franchise tax returns.
Write internal and external tax alerts on current developments and planning techniques.
Research complex tax issues and present conclusions in memos or verbally.
Develop interactions with staff across levels and with diverse clients.
Deepen knowledge in state/local and federal taxes; participate in training programs.
