Job summary

JCPenney Salon in Salem, NH is seeking a Salon Manager to lead a talented team while continuing to build your own client base behind the chair. You will coach, inspire, and grow a team, driving performance and client experience across service and retail.

You can work up to 8–16 hours per week behind the chair, earning 50% commission on service sales and 10% commission on retail with a service. This role blends leadership with hands-on styling and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Current cosmetology license in the state where you are applying.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and develop other stylists.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to set the standard for outstanding service.
• Coach stylists to create memorable experiences and encourage rebooking and referrals.
• Motivate and recognize the team through consistent communication and encouragement.
• Build an atmosphere where clients feel welcomed and eager to return.
• Recruit talented stylists via social media, referrals, and local schools.
• Identify growth opportunities and provide learning experiences for career advancement.
• Review salon performance and drive improvements in productivity and client acquisition.
• Manage backbar expenses and ensure a professional, organized environment.
