Job summary

Pigtails & Crewcuts Ahwatukee is seeking a Salon Manager to oversee daily operations, lead stylists and front-desk teams, and ensure an exceptional experience for children and families. You will drive service quality, scheduling, and a safe, welcoming atmosphere across the salon.

In this role you will hire, train, and develop staff, manage revenue and client satisfaction, and partner with the owner to grow the business while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Prior management or supervisory experience in salon, retail, hospitality, or service business preferred.
• Strong leadership and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lead with kindness while holding staff accountable.
• Experience communicating with parents and working with children.
• Proficient in scheduling and POS systems.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
• Cosmetology licensing preferred but not required by law.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, schedule, and support stylists and front-desk employees.
• Monitor attendance, professionalism, productivity, and performance.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development.

• Handle customer questions, complaints, refunds, and service-recovery situations.

• Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory, and supply ordering.
• Ensure employees follow sanitation, safety, licensing, and company policies.
• Monitor salon revenue, retail sales, rebooking, labor hours, and customer satisfaction.
• Support promotions, birthday parties, community events, and customer-retention efforts.
• Keep the owner informed about staffing, customer concerns, performance, and operational issues.
• Serve as the primary person in charge when the owner is unavailable.
