Job Summary

Under the direction of the Technical Solutions Architect, the Goldschmidt Collective Salesforce Administrator will provide support related to the administration and usage of the Salesforce CRM system. The Salesforce Administrator will work with the Technical Solutions Architect to support the ongoing development of our Salesforce deployment. The incumbent will apply Salesforce knowledge and skills.to resolve a variety of moderately complex issues, and will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for executing day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of our CRM platform. Additionally, the incumbent will use their knowledge of the Salesforce Lightning platform and declarative tools to support the Technical Solutions Architect in maintaining the Salesforce configuration by working with custom objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity. This individual should be highly organized, capable of working independently and possess excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality.

Department Overview

The Goldschmidt Collective (TGC) is a unit within the Department of Family & Community Medicine that focuses on supporting healthcare providers nationwide (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists and other health care professionals) by offering expert, case-based, on-demand education, clinical guidance and capacity building. Its core clinical education topic areas include:

  • HIV and viral hepatitis prevention, evaluation and management, including pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis and antiretroviral therapy as treatment
  • Substance use evaluation and management including medications for substance use disorder treatment
  • Complex contraception, early pregnancy assessment, miscarriage management, menopause management, and early abortion provision (as indicated)
Key Responsibilities

10% - Manages systems and services for a facility or portion of facility of small to moderate size. Evaluates, installs, modifies and supports operating systems, software, utilities and / or tools. Applies and maintains moderately complex security controls. (Essential Function: Yes)

  • Keep current with Salesforce releases and best practices
  • Stay updated on the platform's new tools, capabilities, and updates
  • Assist with preparation for, and follow up to, Salesforce system upgrades
  • Assist with testing and deployment related to critical updates and Salesforce action alerts

50% - Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates moderately complex software and scripts. Designs and applies basic data sources. Employs source code control techniques. Tests software to ensure proper operation and conformance to test plans. Assists with moderately complex release management activities. (Essential Function: Yes)

  • Leverage Salesforce declarative tools to help us stay current, take advantage of new features, address business needs
  • Create and/or edit fields and page layouts
  • Lightning Flows; Quick Actions; Macros
  • Cleaning up technical debt - replace with Lightning Solutions
  • Assist with Release and Deployment Testing (internal)
  • Testing changes pre/post deployment

10% - Identifies, evaluates and develops limited to moderately complex systems, processes and procedures. Develops basic user interface designs. Documents software and processes. Creates reports and training documents. (Essential Function: Yes)

  • Handle basic Salesforce administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks

10% - Plans and implements hardware and software upgrades for computing and communications devices. Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex to complex issues. Provides internal technical support to staff members and assists staff in resolving Salesforce issues. (Essential Function: Yes)

  • Address User Issues as they arise; escalate more complex issues

5% - Applies professional data management concepts and defined data / information management policies and procedures in completing assignments. Works on data / information management problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Designs and implements capture of metadata from technical processes such as software design and database management. (Essential Function: Yes)

5% - Works on basic to moderately complex databases with appropriately normalized data structures using intermediate level database design and programming techniques such as views, triggers and stored procedures. Works on database-related issues and projects of diverse scope taking in business practice and technical considerations, applying defined IT procedures and practices to database projects. (Essential Function: Yes)

5% - Assist with Data Quality and Data Cleaning efforts (Essential Function: Yes)

5% - Other duties as assigned (Essential Function: No)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and one years of relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Knowledge relating to the design and development of Salesforce software. Basic knowledge of Salesforce security features.
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce database administration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce.com Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified
  • General knowledge of several areas of IT.
  • Demonstrated ability troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Basic knowledge of incident response procedures. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications
  • Knowledge of business processes and procedures. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
  • Knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies. Demonstrated skills applying security controls to computer software and hardware.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how system management actions affect users and dependent / related functions.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Experience with Salesforce Communities
  • Knowledge of Visualforce and/or Apex
  • Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment
