Vertiv is seeking an Enterprise Systems Instructional Designer to design, build, and deliver technical learning and lab exercises across data center technologies. You will map training to certification paths and partner with Technical Training managers to drive adoption and business results.

You will develop learning assets in multiple formats, create engaging courses, and ensure alignment with the learning strategy, working with global stakeholders and service teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in adult learning, instructional design, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years progressive experience developing and delivering high impact technical training programs in data center technologies.
  • 5+ years' proven project management skills including planning, prioritizing, executing, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with global stakeholders and managers.
  • Experienced facilitator with virtual/online delivery expertise and multimedia skills.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and ADDIE model.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver high-profile Services training programs in instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, and lab formats.
  • Collaborate with program managers, instructors, SMEs to create high-quality courses and materials.

Job description

The Enterprise Systems Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, building, and delivering technical learning and lab exercises, as well as developing solutions that support Vertiv Systems, Products, and Solutions. This role contributes to the Americas Services Training team and technical services curriculum by creating, curating, and delivering learning assets in multiple formats. Additionally, the role involves building learning and certification paths that align with other learning programs. The designer will partner with Vertiv’s Technical Training managers and Service teams to create relevant and impactful training that maps to certification paths, driving adoption and business results.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop and deliver high-profile, high-impact Services training programs delivered in multiple modes – instructor-led and virtual workshops, train-the-trainer, self-paced online courses and videos, and technical solution lab exercises.
  • Collaborate with program managers, instructors, and subject matter experts to create high-quality performance support materials, courses, content, and programs that align with the goals of the stakeholders.
  • Create, manage, and deliver engaging training across multiple mediums while accommodating multiple learning styles.
  • Integrate adult learning theory best practices into course development.
  • Support new product launches with the development of relevant training in time for field needs.
  • Model exceptional customer service, teamwork, and professionalism in the development/maintenance process.
  • Interact with the business and other team members in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests regarding distance education courses and issues.
  • Understand and define target associate personas to design instruction that resonates with the audience.
  • Produce courses on time and in alignment with the overall learning strategy.
  • Design and evaluate Kirkpatrick evaluations.
  • Ensure that our vision and mission are reflected in all aspects of the learner experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or other related technical degree
  • Instructional design and instructor certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive professional experience developing and delivering high impact technical training programs focusing on data center technologies including power, thermal, monitoring, or related technical subjects.
  • 5+ years' proven project management skills including planning work, prioritizing and managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and delivering results with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication abilities including collaborating with subject matter experts, global stakeholders, and managers to transfer knowledge.
  • Experienced facilitator and coach with expert skills in virtual and online delivery methods, including media and video.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, paired with sound business judgment.
  • Experience using training development tools such as Articulate Rise, Opus, UPK, WalkMe, Adobe Storyboard, Venngage, Vyond
  • Experience using Docebo or other industry leading Learning Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, deadline-oriented, global work environment.
  • Sound understanding of adult learning theory and models (ADDIE).
  • Passion and interest in developing people.
  • Can thrive in demanding, fast-paced, large-scale IT implementation projects.
