Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. seeks a Sales Trainee in Colorado to develop skills across yard operations, production, dispatch and inside sales while preparing for an Outside Sales Representative role.

You will observe and assist, moving toward an OSR I position in 90–180 days with guidance from experienced sales teams. The program emphasizes hands-on training, customer-facing calls, and order processing, with safety as a core focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field.
• 0–2 years related industry operations/sales experience is acceptable.
• Strong customer service and communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in training across yard operations, production, dispatch, scheduling and inside sales while learning the outside sales role.
• Accompanies Outside Sales Reps on customer calls to learn sales techniques.
• Assists with inside sales/counter duties (phone, orders, other tasks).
• Supports Outside Sales activities (take offs, processing orders, obtaining signatures, making sales calls).
• Sets personal goals and tracks progress with management and trainers.
• Completes assigned sales training programs.
• Adheres to safety procedures and helps promote safe work practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
