Job description

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is now hiring a Sales Trainee. This training position assists the District Manager and sales personnel in selling beer, wine, and non-alcoholic items to supermarkets, drug stores, convenience stores, and package stores for wholesale distribution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Travel through designated territories daily to call on regular and prospective customers, solicit orders, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition products.
2. Quote prices and payment terms for orders obtained.
3. Confers with the District Manager to resolve customer problems.
4. Investigates and resolves customer issues with deliveries.
5. Identify and respond to customers' needs.
6. Assist with tracking reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
7. Assist in sales planning and maintain accounts according to company standards.
8. Track progress of goals on a weekly basis.
9. Participate in supplier collaborations.
10. Maintain training and product knowledge continually.
11. Deliver emergency orders when needed.
12. Attend trade shows.
13. Conduct business in accordance with local and state laws.
14. Assist with store re-sets.
15. Distribute point-of-sale materials and build displays in the market.
16. Maintain shelf displays.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the District Manager.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Valid driver's license and State ABC License.

Computer Skills

Basic knowledge of order processing systems.
