Job summary

Canada Dry, part of The Honickman Companies, is hiring a Sales Trainee to join our Salisbury, MD team. You\'ll spend your days in the field with customers, learning our beverage brands, merchandising, and account management while supporting existing routes and promotions.

No beverage sales experience required—reliable, motivated, and ready to learn. A valid driver\'s license and personal vehicle are required; overtime and bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver\'s license required.
• Reliable personal vehicle and required auto insurance.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
• Ability to work weekends as required.
• Previous retail, customer service, merchandising, or sales experience is a plus.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Learn the portfolio of beverage brands, products, customers, and sales processes.
• Support established sales routes and build relationships with store managers and key accounts.
• Identify opportunities to increase product distribution, shelf space, and displays.
• Help create displays and promotions to drive visibility and sales.
• Monitor competitor activity and share market insights with the sales team.

This is a hands-on opportunity designed to introduce you to the beverage industry while developing your skills in sales, customer relationships, merchandising, and account management.

You’ll spend your days in the field working with customers, learning our brands and business, supporting established sales routes, and gaining the experience needed to grow your career within our sales organization.

What You’ll Learn & Do:

LEARN THE BUSINESS:

• Learn our portfolio of beverage brands, products, customers, and sales processes.
• Develop an understanding of retail execution, pricing, promotions, distribution, and merchandising.
• Work alongside experienced sales team members to learn how successful territories and customer relationships are managed.

SUPPORT SALES ROUTES:

• Provide coverage for established sales routes as needed.
• Build relationships with store managers and key account contacts.
• Identify opportunities to increase product distribution, shelf space, displays, and overall sales.
• Support new account development and promotional activities.

EXECUTE IN THE MARKET:

• Keep products properly stocked, rotated, priced, and merchandised.
• Help create displays and execute resets that increase product visibility.
• Ensure products are fresh, saleable, and presented according to company standards.
• Monitor competitor activity and share market insights with the sales team.

GROW YOUR SALES SKILLS:

• Learn how to develop and execute sales plans.
• Build confidence identifying customer needs and overcoming objections.
• Gain experience working toward sales, volume, distribution, and merchandising goals.
• Develop the skills and industry knowledge needed to pursue future sales opportunities within the organization.

What We're Looking For:

You don't need years of beverage sales experience to get started. We're looking for someone who is dependable, motivated, comfortable working independently, and ready to learn.
