Job summary

CLA, a top 10 national professional services firm, seeks a Sales Tax Outsourcing Senior to join our State & Local Tax practice in Charlotte, NC. You’ll partner with clients and the sales tax team to resolve data issues and support tax filings using Avalara.

You’ll review returns, perform tax research, mentor junior staff, and help clients across Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail and Healthcare. A Bachelor’s in accounting or finance and 2+ years of relevant experience are required; CPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• CPA eligible preferred.
• Experience in business consulting or services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve identified data issues with the client and sales tax team.
• Receive training on Avalara software and apply it to returns.
• Prepare and review sales tax returns for clients.
• Work with clients from multiple industries (Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Healthcare).
• Conduct tax-related research and complete special projects as needed.
• Review and resolve sales tax returns and Nexus issues.
• Develop and train associates and interns to build careers.
• Support clients to resolve complex issues and achieve results.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Senior role:

• Work withclientand sales tax team to resolve identified data issues
• Receive training onAvalara software
• UtilizeAvalarato prepareand reviewsales tax returns
• Work with clients from multiple industries, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail & Healthcare
• Complete tax-related research and special projects as needed
• Review and resolve sales tax returns
• IdentifyNexus issues and discrepancies where filing a return may berequired
• Develop and train teamassociates andinterns to help them build inspired careers
• Work with many great clients to help them resolve complex issues and get results

What you will need:

The compensation range for this position in California is: $84,400.00 - $143,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $71,800.00 - $124,000.00
