Join the team as Twilio’s next Senior Sales Specialist, Messaging Overlay

About the job

Twilio is looking for a Senior Sales Specialist to join our newly created Messaging Overlay team! You will have a quota and will be responsible for a selected number of strategic accounts that are also some of Twilio’s largest customers. Your focus will be on driving commercial and operational success within these accounts by leading and partnering with other internal stakeholders to define the strategy and execution plan to help grow your account’s expenditure profitably.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  1. Develop and drive strategy to achieve optimized profitability within account territory,
  2. Ruthlessly prioritize by identifying opportunities to maximize profitability,
  3. Own pricing strategy and execution, working closely with routing specialists to maximize volume aggregation and account health,
  4. Provide regular performance reports to management on sales pipeline, account status, and team performance. Use data to inform decisions and optimize strategies,
  5. Cultivate relationships with internal partners and key stakeholders to drive cost efficiencies and quality improvements,
  6. Work with cross-functional stakeholders and technical teams to ensure messaging solutions meet client needs and contribute to long-term customer satisfaction and retention,
  7. Utilize deep understanding of the messaging ecosystem to support and drive success with high-value clients,
  8. Represent Twilio and our values with customers at industry events.
Qualifications

Required:
  • 5+ years in sales, preferably in the international telecom industry,
  • Highly analytical and strategic mindset with proven ability to analyze large data sets to inform decisions,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage and influence senior stakeholders,
  • Ability to lead meetings with customers and exceed key metrics,
  • Bias for action, with ability to test, iterate, and measure success quickly,
  • Experience working with technical, operational, and cross-functional teams to drive outcomes,
  • Strong self-drive and motivation,
  • Established relationships with key regional accounts,
  • Understanding of the SMS supplier ecosystem,
  • Experience with SaaS, CPaas, or PaaS solutions,
  • Experience creating and managing financial pricing models.
Location & Travel

This role involves approximately 10% travel to connect with clients and team members in person.
