Job summary

PYP in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a front counter associate to deliver outstanding customer service to walk-in customers in a fast-paced automotive parts store. You will handle in-person sales, identify parts using our inventory system, and process cash or card transactions at the POS.

You'll also help maintain displays, coordinate yard pulls with parts staff, and assist with credits or warranty claims while thriving in a team-oriented environment with flexible weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service background.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• High School diploma or GED preferred; college coursework desired.
• Automotive parts knowledge preferred; prior automotive experience.
• Two to three years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Description

Responsible for providing a superior customer service experience to all walk-in customers.

• In-Person Sales: Provide immediate, high-quality service to all walk-in retail and wholesale customers.
• Parts Identification: Use inventory software to help customers find exact matches for their vehicles with the vehicles on-site.
• Sales: Actively manage the front counter area, processing cash and credit transactions using POS systems.
• Yard Coordination: Communicate directly with parts pullers to retrieve parts for customers that want the company to pull their parts for them
• Merchandising & Displays: Set up and maintain physical displays of popular parts (e.g., batteries, fluids, tools) to drive impulse sales.
• Core & Returns Management: Inspect physical parts returned by walk-in customers to verify condition and process credits or warranty claims
• Assumes other duties as assigned

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• To perform this job this job successfully, an individual must have a strong customer service background.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• High School or G.E.D. Equivalent preferred. College coursework desired.
• Prior automotive experience and knowledge of automotive parts preferred.
• Two to three years of prior customer service relations preferred.
