Schindler Elevator Corporation in Portland, OR seeks a Sales Representative - Modernization to identify opportunities, grow existing accounts, and negotiate favorable terms. You will prepare proposals, work with building owners on maintenance agreements, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related business or sales field.
  • 5-7 years of Technical B2B sales experience preferred; industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, SAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities through key customer contacts and industry information to locate sources for sale of company products.
  • Prepare documentation for prospective customers and ensure it is communicated appropriately.
  • Manage existing customer accounts while focusing on growth of the business.
  • Meet and/or exceed assigned sales and customer objectives.
  • Negotiate contract terms favorable to the company.
  • Analyze customer needs and secure desirable business through company products and services.
  • Maintain favorable client relationships and resolve issues to satisfaction.
  • Prepare estimates for the sale of company products.
  • Maintain required customer information and files per procedures.
  • Work with building owners and management on maintenance agreements and updates to systems.
  • Source and apply competitive data for advantage.
  • Communicate essential information to customers and internal operations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Retain and grow the customer base; manage accounts receivable for assigned accounts.
  • Develop negotiating strategies with limited supervision.
  • Plan and implement sales strategies aligned with product strategy and customer needs.
  • Understand financial goals and expectations of the company.
  • Participate in professional development to learn more about elevator products and services.

Sales Representative - Modernization

Your main responsibilities

The MOD Sales Representative identifies opportunities through key customer contacts and industry information to locate sources for sale of company products. The MOD Sales Representative prepares documentation for prospective customers and ensures it is communicated appropriately. Responsible for effectively managing existing customer accounts while focusing on growth of the business.

  • Meet and/or exceed assigned sales and customer objectives
  • Negotiate contract terms favorable to company
  • Analyze customer needs and secure desirable business through application of company products and services
  • Maintain favorable client relationships
  • Assess and follow customer complaints to satisfactory resolutionPrepare estimates for the sale of company products
  • Prepare and maintain required customer information and files in accordance with established procedures
  • Work with owner and building management in obtaining maintenance agreement, renewal of agreements as well as updates to their system either to meet new code requirements or through application of new technologies
  • Source, analyze, communicate and apply competitive data for competitive advantage to company
  • Communicate to both customers and internal operations the necessary information to assure customer satisfaction and achieve sales cost objective
  • Retain and grow customer base
  • Accounts receivable management for assigned accounts
  • Develop negotiating strategies with minimum monitoring by management
  • Plan, develop and implement sales strategies on specific negotiations that are consistent with internal product strategy while, at the same time, fully reflective of customer requirements and competitive offerings
  • Understand financial goals and expectations of company
  • Participate in company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of elevator company products, services and procedures
What you bring
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Accounting preferred
  • Experience: 5-7 years of technical Business-to-Business sales preferred; Industry experince is a preferred plus.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite software, Lotus Notes, SAP preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Must have good conflict resolution skills

Base Salary $74,800 - $93,500

The above represents the typical salaryrange for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on your experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. Please note that the compensation listed reflects only base salaryand does not include commissions or longer-term incentives.
