ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Sale Representative II in Lombard, IL to identify and convert Commercial & Industrial opportunities within the PJM market.

You will build a qualified pipeline, cultivate customer relationships, and deliver energy solutions aligned with customer objectives. In this hybrid, full-time role, you will work with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve regional growth, account acquisition, and retention targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or 3+ years in business principles and retail electricity markets.
  • 2+ years of sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in sales, business development, or energy markets with a goal to build a career in energy.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales process from identified opportunities to contract execution.
  • Develop and qualify Commercial & Industrial opportunities within assigned territories.

What You Can Expect

As our Sale Representative II, you will support ENGIE's growth objectives by identifying, developing, and converting new Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customer opportunities within the PJM market. The Sale Representative II will be responsible for building a qualified sales pipeline, cultivating strong customer relationships, and delivering energy solutions aligned with customers' business objectives. Working closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams, the Sale Representative II will develop expertise in retail electricity markets while contributing to regional sales growth, customer acquisition, and retention objectives. The Sales Representative II is expected to operate with limited supervision while consistently delivering individual sales goals and contributing to regional sales performance.

Key Accountabilities
Sales & Customer Acquisition
  • Independently manage the sales process from opportunity identification through contract execution
  • Prospect and develop new Commercial & Industrial customer opportunities within assigned territories
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities sufficient to achieve individual sales targets
  • Present ENGIE's energy solutions and value proposition to prospective customers
  • Develop proposals that align customer requirements with ENGIE products and services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate pricing requests, contract execution, and customer onboarding
  • Achieve assigned sales goals related to customer acquisition, gross margin, revenue, and contracted volume
Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with prospective customers, existing customers, brokers, consultants, and channel partners
  • Provide a high level of customer service and responsiveness throughout the sales process
  • Identify opportunities to support customer retention, renewals, and expansion of ENGIE services
  • Establish credibility and trust with customer decision makers and influencers
Market Awareness & Product Knowledge
  • Maintain working knowledge of retail electricity products, PJM market fundamentals, and competitive offerings
  • Monitor market conditions, industry developments, and sustainability trends relevant to customers
  • Apply market knowledge to identify customer opportunities and differentiate ENGIE's solutions
  • Continue developing expertise through training and professional development programs
Compliance & Governance
  • Maintain accurate customer, activity, pipeline, and forecasting information within CRM systems.
  • Follow established approval processes, sales controls, and risk management frameworks
  • Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures
What You'll Bring
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In lieu of a degree you have three (4) years of working experience where you gained hands‑on experience in business principles, management, and retail electricity markets
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience of sales, business development, account management, or customer‑facing commercial experience
  • You have a demonstrated interest in sales, business development, customer engagement, or commercial markets, with a strong desire to build a career in the energy industry
  • You are a results‑driven, self‑motivated professional with previous customer service, sales, account management, or business development experience and a strong drive to achieve and continuously improve results
  • You have strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills, with a customer‑focused mindset and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, prospects, brokers, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • You have strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • You are knowledgeable in sales, prospecting, customer relationship management, and B2B sales processes, with an interest in energy markets, sustainability solutions, and commercial customer needs
  • You are knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms, with the ability to quickly learn new products, systems, and processes and apply strong commercial acumen to customer opportunities
  • You are committed to a high standard of performance, with strong presentation and negotiation skills, the ability to motivate yourself and others, and a commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and professional development
Additional Details
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, allowing for a mix of remote work and in‑office presence
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record for travel and car rentals
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation

Salary Range: $ 63,300 - $96,945 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
