Sales Representative, Distributor

Location: Orlando, FL/Tampa, FL

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with our contract hardware distribution channel. We are looking for a sales professional capable of relationship and technical solution selling who can negotiate and close profitable sales revenue for the product lines represented by Door Security Solutions. You can expect to be part of a fun, hardworking team with colleagues dedicated to mutual success.

Key areas you will contribute to in the role include:

  1. Develop and maintain relationships in all areas of the distributor’s organization.
  2. Actively solicit, follow-up, and negotiate all quote opportunities.
  3. Manage distributor buying programs.
  4. Actively promote distributor promotions and programs to secure discretionary sales revenue.
  5. Work closely with distributors to ensure that they quote ASSA ABLOY specifications.
  6. Conduct regularly scheduled distributor business reviews.
  7. Plan, coordinate, and conduct distributor product/solution training sessions.
  8. Coordinate the resolution of product and field service issues.
  9. Manage brand shelf space at distributor accounts.

What we are looking for:

  1. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions.
  2. You are detail-oriented, organized, and known for follow-up habits.
  3. You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator.
  4. You can work independently but believe in teamwork.
  5. You have the ability to read, understand specifications/facility standards, and have industry-related technical and sales aptitude.
  6. Ability to travel and meet the requirements of customers.
  7. Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
  8. You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.

Education and/or experience:

  1. Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: architectural design/engineering, construction science/management, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  2. Minimum of 2 – 3 years of industry-related experience working in the distribution channel of the door & hardware industry and multi-line sales expertise.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  4. Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
  5. Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.

Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs. This salary range is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting.
