Position Overview
The Sales Representative manages the entire sales process while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves continuously sourcing new customers, helping them design and purchase their dream home, and ensuring a smooth sales experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate DR Horton’s value proposition, product vision and capabilities to potential customers
- Uncover and understand customer goals and challenges, then establish DR Horton as the best solution available
- Overcome objections and close sales
- Maintain accurate documentation of the transaction from sale through loan, options, and construction
- Continually source new sales opportunities
- Create and present a marketing plan to management for establishing new customer relationships
- Network and outreach to realtors
- Manage time efficiently, meet sales goals, and work effectively with team members
- Maintain and expand the database of prospects
- Attend sales meetings
- Develop and maintain good rapport with prospective customers, realtors, and team members
- Execute policies to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 2 years of related experience
- Must have a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and be able to drive during daytime or nighttime
- Ability to use DRH Sales applications on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions and use DRH Sales applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Physical ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8‑hour day, sit for extended periods, kneel, bend at the waist, walk stairs, walk on uneven terrain, use hands to manipulate objects, reach, talk, and hear; lift or move up to 25 pounds; maintain close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions
- Moderate noise level
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensing requirements vary by state
- Prior CRM software experience
- Previous sales experience and industry knowledge preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
