GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is a territory sales position. The employee is responsible for selling and marketing lottery products, servicing retailer accounts within the assigned territory, meeting or exceeding territory sales goals, merchandising, retailer recruitment, retailer training, and public relations. The position requires daily travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Ensure retailers and players are aware of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging.
- Utilize effective sales techniques to promote and increase the sale of lottery products.
- Provide, place, and update point-of-sale materials; maintain play stations and place dispensers and vending machines.
- Communicate positive and current information about the lottery and its products to retailers.
- Provide training and guidance to retailers on effective methods for increasing ticket sales and integrating into core product sales.
- Identify, contact, and recruit potential retailers; assist them in completing applications and collecting application fees.
- Analyze individual retailer sales, recommend improvements, and establish goals with retailers.
- Explain lottery policy and procedures to retailers, potential retailers, and others.
- Educate retailers and others on programs supported by the lottery.
- Perform retailer suspensions or terminations as needed or directed.
- Represent the agency at events, presentations, and speaking engagements as assigned.
- Participate in sales events and manage promotional materials that may include moving equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Resolve issues with retailers and players regarding lottery sales, tickets, and supplies distribution.
- Resolve issues relating to retailer contracting.
- Maintain ongoing communication with district management regarding issues and concerns.
- Answer and return all phone calls promptly.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and seminars as directed by management.
- Manage instant ticket inventory, including timely returns.
- Maintain games for display.
- Maintain daily paperwork such as vehicle logs, timesheets, and other required documentation.
- Document all call activity in the provided mobile sales tool and use data to increase sales.
- Document marketing and other activities related to the territory.
- Operate and maintain state vehicles in accordance with policies and laws.
- Operate a motor vehicle as required, which may include overnight trips.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform ADA compliance functions.

- Ability to move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques.
- Ability to travel as required, including overnight travel and operating a motor vehicle.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of information learned while working with the Florida Lottery.
