GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is a professional supervisory position responsible for leading the Funds Management Section in the Division of General Accounting to carry out technical, analytical, and customer service functions of the section.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery's Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage and report cash and investment transactions and balances of the agency which include:
    • Retailer activities - Sweeps, presentments, retailer incentive payments, etc.
    • Player activities - Prize payments, payments from Future Prize Pool, payments to MUSL, etc.
    • Investment activities - Purchase and sale of investments, interest income, annual installment payments, etc.
    • Other financial activities - District transactions, employee receipt processing, collection and depositing rent payments from tenants, debt collection reporting, etc.
  • Ensure daily cash activity and position analysis is accurately and timely performed to ensure the agency has sufficient operating funds for the day while maximizing interest earnings on other funds.
  • Ensure that performance bonds provided by retailers and vendors are timely and accurately accounted for.
  • Timely perform or review all required bank and account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare or review requested reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide support for FLAIR including access administration and management.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place for all accounting and banking system access by regularly performing access control review.
  • Regularly review and update policies and procedures for areas within your area of management. When applicable, recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve operation efficiency, effectiveness, safegarding of Lottery assets, and internal control.
  • Effectively lead the team assigned and perform administrative and supervisory functions, as necessary, to ensure adequate efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Other job-related requirements for this position

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required .
