Job description

Job Summary

IFF has an opening for a Sales Representative in the Grain Processing team. The SR will interface with current and prospective customers, coordinating and driving the implementation of IFF technology, including enzymes, yeast, and fermentation additives within the Fuel Ethanol and/or Carbohydrate Processing Industry. A successful candidate will possess a willingness to develop business acumen and have an aptitude for developing strong relationships by understanding the customer's business, technical needs, and challenges. The individual who excels in this role will be energetic, comfortable communicating verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Build relationships within the fuel ethanol and/or carbohydrate processing industry.
  2. Assist in progressing opportunities and achieving group revenue targets.
  3. Understand operational details of ethanol (or similar manufacturing) processes to identify new opportunities and support the sales process.
  4. Assist in developing account plans and presenting commercial offers based on marketing strategies.
  5. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including technical service, supply, marketing, and research, to serve customers to IFF standards.
  6. Help resolve customer issues and identify unmet needs.
  7. Utilize business, sales, and technical tools (e.g., SPO Milestones, internal calculators, Forecasting tool, Salesforce.com, MS Office) effectively as needed.
Qualifications
  1. University degree (minimum BS) in Engineering or Science with technical acumen.
  2. Experience in customer service, sales, or technical roles.
  3. Ability to interact at multiple levels within customer organizations.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Self-starter, independent achiever, highly motivated.
  6. Willingness to travel up to 50%; this position is home-based with customers primarily in the Midwest region.
  7. 1-2 years of experience in ethanol, corn processing, agricultural, food, or chemical industries (preferred but not required).
