Role: Sales Representative (Greater Chicago)
Opportunity Summary
Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and packaging sector, is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to manage and grow an established customer portfolio while identifying new business opportunities. This role is responsible for achieving annual sales targets, strengthening customer relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver commercial success.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing strategic account plans, driving profitable growth, and supporting operational teams to maximize production capacity and value-added service offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic account growth plans by aligning customer needs with innovative solutions.
- Identify market trends and pricing dynamics to support commercial decision-making.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new business opportunities while managing an active sales pipeline.
- Meet or exceed sales revenue and volume targets.
- Maintain accurate opportunity and pipeline management through CRM systems.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple levels within customer organizations.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and long-term contracts.
- Execute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
- Drive profitable growth through new business development, expansion of existing accounts, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
- Analyse financial performance and profitability against budget targets.
- Collaborate with operational and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of customer solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer value while increasing business profitability.Manage customer relationships throughout the full sales lifecycle to ensure exceptional service and long-term partnerships.
About You
We're looking for a commercially driven sales professional who combines strong relationship-building skills with strategic thinking and a passion for delivering results.
You will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- 4–5+ years of B2B sales experience within Corrugated packaging.
- Proven success in business development, account management, and sales pipeline management.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Knowledge of reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or QlikView is advantageous.
