Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 1 year tax experience OR a master’s in Accountancy/Tax or 1 year corporate accounting experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer).
• Experience with tax software (e.g., Thomson Workflow, Vertex) preferred.
• CMI designation preferred but not required.
• Other professional certifications are a plus.
• Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and work independently or in a team.
• Ability to prioritize work and resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Tax Department with non-income tax compliance responsibilities.
• Prepare and file sales/use and property tax returns.
• Prepare related compliance filings and supporting documentation.
• Ensure data for tax returns is complete and accurate.
• Prepare check requests and assemble returns for filing.
• Prepare city and county licenses.
• Complete other tax projects within budget.
• Prepare applications for new registrations and licenses.
• Assist with state and local audits by gathering information.
• Perform other administrative tax tasks.
