Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Family Service Counselor in Dolton, IL. You will be accountable for prospecting daily, generating referrals, and building trusted relationships with families served, while collaborating with funeral directors and staff to deliver seamless, compassionate service.

You will explain pre-need options, present solutions, and manage inquiries with professionalism, aiming to protect families and uphold SCI’s standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; insurance license if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation: prospect for 1-2 hours daily and secure referrals.
• Explain and present to families and referred families; build relationships with families served.
• Respond to inquiries promptly with empathy and professionalism; document activities.
• Prepare for appointments and conduct procedures with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Collaborate with funeral directors and staff to ensure seamless service from at-need through aftercare.

In subsequent years, sales professionals commonly earn $100,000 to $150,000 or more annually.
