Job summary

Parallel Ag in Emmetsburg, IA seeks a Sales Professional to provide customers with the equipment they need to keep operations running and to grow customer relations across departments.

The role requires proactive lead generation, outbound/inbound outreach, and strong product knowledge. Base plus uncapped commission, with opportunities for training and advancement within a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in a customer-facing role in agriculture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven record of building positive customer relationships.
  • Adept at identifying sales opportunities and pursuing them.
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM usage.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the dealership in selling equipment lines.
  • Generate and qualify sales leads from various sources.
  • Make outbound calls and emails to qualify leads and close sales.
  • Provide product demonstrations to customers as needed.
  • Maintain product knowledge and prepare sales orders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and prospects.

Job Location: Emmetsburg, IA 50536

Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $300,000.00 Base + Commission/month

With well-known brands such as Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Manitou, Gleaner, and more, you won’t find a more extensive inventory of field-ready equipment. Customers come to depend on Parallel Ag to get any job done and we are looking to add a highly motivated Sales Professional to our team!

The Sales Professional will work to provide our customers with the equipment that they need to keep their operations going. The Sales Professional will grow customer relations and support the work of other departments in the dealership. Their purpose is to continue learning the business and gain the knowledge and experience necessary to work within the framework of the Parallel Ag business model.

Essential Functions

  • Represent the company in the sale of all equipment lines sold by the dealership
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, dealer resellers, business directories, and other sources
  • Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e‑mail to qualify leads and sell products and services
  • Receive inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales
  • Follow a defined sales process and complete prior paperwork on a timely basis
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Provide product demos to qualified customers as needed
  • Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment sold by the dealership
  • Emphasize sales features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders
  • Monitor trends in customer’s business activities
  • Coordinate and/or perform customer training
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospects
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database
  • Work with outside vendor sales representatives to keep account activities, literature, and training up to date
  • Travel and attend trade shows and training events as needed
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years working in a customer-facing role in the Ag Industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid record in building positive customer relationships
  • Adept at identifying sales opportunities and strategies to pursue them
  • Driven to work independently
  • Evidence of personal and professional growth being a priority
  • Motivated and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new people and environments
  • Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Excel) proficiency
  • Good computer skills and basic math skills i.e. Microsoft products, CRM, etc.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
Preferred
  • An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science or Agricultural Business – OR – agriculture equipment sales experienced preferred
  • Agriculture industry experience, particularly equipment, parts, service, or operations; experience with closing sales a plus
  • Strong organization skills to maximize communications with customers and other teams
  • Discipline to maintain records and sales activity reporting
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Desire to work as an integral, dependable member of a closely knit team
  • The ability to travel overnight as needed during meeting and product use season
  • Ability and willingness to reside within the assigned territory

Position type/Expected hours of work

This is a full-time position. Days and Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm and some Saturdays. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
