Wireten · New York, NY — New York–based candidates only

Paid internship or part-time contract, with the intent to make it permanent for the right person.

Wireten is a B2B payments and invoice platform for wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers and the retail businesses they sell to — restaurants, bars, grocers, convenience stores, bakeries.

Suppliers send their invoices into Wireten straight from the system they already run. Their customers see every invoice — current and upcoming — in one mobile and web app, with the invoice PDF attached and full payment history behind it, and pay by bank transfer right there. No more chasing statements over email.

For the supplier that means one thing above all: customers who can actually see what they owe, pay on time. Fewer collection calls, cleaner receivables, and a direct line to their customer base.

We are pre-launch and preparing for our first suppliers.

The role

This is a wear-many-hats job at a company that is about to go live. We are open to both an intern and an experienced part-timer — the work is the same, the level of hand-holding is not.

Roughly half of it is bringing suppliers on — finding them, calling them, demoing the product, closing, and walking them through setup. The other half is keeping the business running day to day — working the internal admin console, reviewing new accounts, watching daily activity for anything that looks wrong, answering support email, and keeping records straight.

Some weeks lean sales, some lean operations. You need to be comfortable with both, and comfortable deciding which one today needs.

If you want a defined territory, a script and a manager, this is the wrong job. If you want to run a whole side of a small company and grow into whatever you prove you're good at, it's the right one.

What you'll do
  • Build and work a pipeline of wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers across the US and Canada.
  • Cold call, email and follow up — consistently, not once. Most of this business is won on the third or fourth touch.
  • Run discovery calls that get to the real pain: late payments, invoice disputes, customers who claim they never got the bill.
  • Deliver clear, confident product demos over video, tailored to that business rather than read off a deck.
  • Handle the objections honestly — how the data connection works, what onboarding takes, what it costs, how their customers get brought on.
  • Close, and keep the pipeline honestly tracked.
Onboarding and account support
  • Walk each new supplier through setup: account, invoice feed, bank details, first invoices out the door.
  • Work with our technical team on mapping the supplier's invoice data. You don't have to build it — you have to explain it and keep it moving.
  • Help suppliers bring their own customers onto the platform. A live supplier with no active customers is not a win.
  • Be the first responder for supplier and customer questions by phone and email, and escalating the technical ones with enough detail to be useful.
  • Check back after go-live. The early accounts decide whether this works.
Day-to-day operations
  • Work the internal admin console: review new supplier and customer signups, process account changes and closures, pull reports.
  • Monitor daily activity — invoices going out, payments going through, anything stuck, failed or out of the ordinary — and raise it the same day. This is a financial product; quiet problems are expensive.
  • Keep account records, documents and onboarding paperwork complete.
  • Flag anything that looks like a fraud or compliance concern immediately. You're not asked to make those calls — you're asked to notice them and elevate.
  • Report weekly: pipeline, new accounts, live suppliers, open issues, and what's blocking what.
  • Help build the process as you go. Most of these workflows don't exist in writing yet; you'll be the one who writes them down.
  • Take on the odd jobs a small company generates — vendor calls, research, scheduling, documentation, whatever the week needs.
What we're looking for

Must have

  • Real sales ability — you can open a conversation with a stranger, hold it, and ask for the business. How you got there matters more to us than how long you've been doing it. Students and career changers are welcome to apply; we are hiring for the instinct, not the résumé.
  • Some exposure to B2B sales, account management, customer success or business operations — a job, an internship, a campus role or your own hustle all count.
  • Genuinely strong communication — clear on the phone, clean in writing, comfortable being the first voice a stranger hears.
  • Willing to do outbound: cold calls, follow-up, and the discipline to keep going after a quiet week.
  • Can run a live software demo without reading from a page.
  • Detail-minded with numbers. This is money and invoices — a transposed digit matters.
  • Organized and self-directed. You'll be building the process, not inheriting one.
  • Based in New York. This role is New York only — not remote from another state.

Nice to have

  • Sold into or worked in wholesale, distribution, food service, grocery or manufacturing.
  • Background in payments, bank transfers, accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, or accounting and ERP software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP).
  • Experience onboarding customers after the sale.
  • A second language is a real advantage — many of the businesses we sell to run day to day in Spanish, Chinese, Korean or French.
Who does well here
  • Proactive — you don't wait to be told who to call next.
  • Persistent without being a pest: you follow up because you have something useful to say.
  • Straight. This is a financial product; you never oversell what it does.
  • Unbothered by going from a sales call to a spreadsheet in the same hour.
  • Patient with a first-generation product, and quick to report what's broken.
The arrangement
  • Paid internship or paid part-time contract to start, depending on your experience and availability.
  • New York only. Much of the work can be done from home, but you need to be local to New York.
  • Flexible hours within US business hours; supplier calls need to happen when suppliers answer the phone.
  • If it works on both sides, this grows into a permanent role.
  • You’ll work directly with the founder — short decisions, fast changes, no layers — and have real influence on the product. What you hear on calls goes straight to the people building it.
