Job summary

Summerset Marine Construction is seeking a seasoned leader to head sales and marketing, driving growth, brand presence, and client engagement. You will report to the COO and shape strategic plans to expand market share, increase revenue, and build long-term client relationships aligned with company goals.

You will develop sales strategies, lead generation, and campaigns with the marketing team, overseeing proposals and negotiations to secure favorable terms and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Extensive experience in sales, marketing, and business development, ideally within the marine construction or related industries.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Data-driven and strategic, with a solid understanding of market trends and analytics.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and lead a team.

About the role

In this role you will lead and oversee all sales and marketing initiatives to drive business growth, brand presence, and customer engagement. Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a key role in developing strategic plans to expand market share, increase revenue, and build long-term client relationships in alignment with company goals.

What you'll do
  • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share. Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the industry.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, track industry trends, and assess competitors. Use insights to refine and optimize sales and marketing strategies.
  • Foster and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and key accounts. Act as the primary contact for client inquiries and relationship management. Selling and upselling products to customers as needed.
  • Drive lead generation activities through various channels, including digital outreach, networking, and industry events. Collaborate with the sales team to qualify and convert leads into active opportunities.
  • Partner with the marketing team to create and execute marketing campaigns that enhance brand visibility, including digital marketing, advertising, promotions, and trade shows.
  • Oversee the preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and other sales materials that align with client needs and showcase our value proposition.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with clients to ensure beneficial agreements. Secure favorable terms while balancing profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts. Regularly analyze metrics to identify trends, optimize strategies, and improve outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and motivation to the sales and marketing teams. Establish clear goals and objectives and support team members in achieving high performance.
  • Work closely with departments such as operations, finance, and legal to align on project and contract requirements and ensure seamless execution.
