Our client is an established international logistics company providing transportation and freight forwarding solutions to businesses across the United States and international markets.

The company works closely with domestic and overseas teams to support customers' global shipping and logistics needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Japanese-English bilingual Sales Manager to lead sales initiatives and support business growth.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining direct sales responsibilities (approximately 50%) with team management (approximately 50%).

The ideal candidate has a strong background in international logistics sales, a proven ability to achieve revenue targets, and the leadership skills to manage a team across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development (50%)

• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and business growth targets.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within international logistics.
• Build relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, and other prospective clients.
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
• Collaborate with domestic and international teams to provide effective logistics solutions.

Sales Management & Leadership (50%)

• Lead and manage a team of approximately 5–10 employees across multiple locations.
• Oversee sales, inside sales, and customer service functions.
• Establish performance expectations and monitor progress toward team objectives.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to improve individual and team performance.
• Coordinate sales activities and communication across regional offices.
• Support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or a closely related industry.
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on sales activities with team management responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred

• Previous experience managing a sales team.
• Experience overseeing employees across multiple locations.
• Established relationships within the international logistics industry.
• Familiarity with air freight, ocean freight, and international shipping services.
• Experience working with Japanese companies or international business partners.
