Position Overview
The Membership Manager (MM) supports the General Manager (GM) in overseeing the day-to-day club operation, including recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a diverse, high-performance team, driving membership sales, and providing excellent customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales team and financial performance
- Drive all sales efforts within the club, including new member sales, EFT, fitness packages and supplements
- Set monthly, weekly and daily sales goals
- Review daily and weekly sales numbers and club statistics with the club manager to identify potential revenue gaps and modify sales execution as necessary
- Execute and coordinate sales promotions within the club
- Drive club efforts in achieving revenue goals in NMS, EFT, units and ancillary revenue
- Ensure attainment of department targets (e.g. EFT, NMS, Units and PT attachment)
- Schedule sales team members to meet member needs
- Ensure that all club members receive a high member service experience
- Proactively engage club member base, regularly greet and interact with members
- Resolve member concerns and complaints professionally within club parameters, as assigned by GM
- Maintain a fully engaged and high-performing team that aligns with company values and goals
- Recruit, interview & hire membership consultants and ensure proper staffing levels
- Train and coach MCs, assist in conducting planning sessions and performance reviews
- Lead membership meetings to review performance and offer direction, motivation and guidance toward achieving individual and company goals
- Implement, supervise and direct regular training to ensure all consultants are trained in sales SOPs and other company policies
- Create and conduct membership team building activities, including participation in recognition programs
- Ensure that systems procedures are accurately followed
- Daily review of new member agreements with sales team
- Utilize club systems to select, interview, and hire (with GM approval) qualified team members
- Train & develop membership consultants according to SOPs and objectives, guest and new member enrollment process, emphasizing goals of EFT setup, NMS, units and member retention
- Conduct weekly (or as-needed) meetings with direct reports to review performance and offer guidance toward achieving individual and company goals, provide career growth and advancement opportunities
- Advise consultants under the guidance of the GM and consult with corporate office support for additional direction
Work Schedule
This is a full-time management position. Your daily schedule will vary throughout the week depending on the needs of the club, the staff, and the members. Your hours should include prime time and should allow you to interact with staff and members throughout the day. Special events, promotions, and other demands will require some early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
