Job description

About SurgeonsLab:

SurgeonsLab is a global MedTech company developing high-fidelity physical and virtual surgical and interventional simulation technologies. Our platforms help hospitals, surgeons, medical schools, simulation centers, and medical-device companies train clinicians, demonstrate products, and develop new devices. We work at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and advanced simulation, with customers across the U.S. and internationally.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a motivated Sales Intern who wants real experience in technical B2B sales - not coffee runs and spreadsheets nobody reads. You will sit alongside our commercial team, learn how complex medical technology is sold to hospitals and MedTech companies, and take on genuine responsibility from the start. You will research accounts, build prospect lists, join customer calls and demonstrations, and help move real opportunities forward.

No medical or MedTech background is required. We will teach you the product, the anatomy, and the clinical context. What we need from you is curiosity, work ethic, and the willingness to pick up the phone. This is a paid internship with the potential to convert to a full-time Sales role for the right performer.

What You'll Do
  • Research hospitals, medical schools, simulation centers, and MedTech companies to identify potential customers
  • Build and maintain prospect lists and target-account research
  • Support outbound prospecting by email, phone, and LinkedIn under the guidance of the sales team
  • Help qualify inbound inquiries and route them to the right person
  • Keep CRM records accurate: contacts, activities, notes, and next steps
  • Prepare materials for customer meetings, product demonstrations, and proposals
  • Join customer calls, demonstrations, and site visits to observe and learn the sales process
  • Help prepare for and support conferences, workshops, and customer events, including equipment setup
  • Gather competitive and market information and share what you find with the team
  • Assist with follow-up after meetings and events
What You'll Learn
  • How structured B2B sales methodologies work in practice (MEDDIC, SPIN, Consultative Selling)
  • How to run discovery, ask good questions, and uncover what a customer actually needs
  • How to sell technically complex products to clinical, technical, and executive audiences
  • How hospitals, universities, and MedTech companies evaluate and buy technology
  • How to use a CRM properly and manage a pipeline
  • The fundamentals of surgical and interventional simulation technology
  • How an early-stage commercial team builds a market from scratch
What We're Looking For
Required
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree — Business, Marketing, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Communications, Economics, or a related field. Strong candidates from other fields are welcome.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication
  • Comfortable talking to people you don't know, including on the phone
  • Genuinely curious, with the ability to learn technical information quickly
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with follow-up
  • Proactive — you ask questions, take initiative, and don't wait to be told what to do
  • Able to work 100% onsite in Prosper, Texas for the full internship
  • Reliable transportation to the office and occasional local customer sites
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
Nice to Have
  • Any prior sales, retail, customer service, fundraising, or cold-outreach experience
  • Familiarity with a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Interest in healthcare, medical technology, or engineering
  • Strong writing skills and comfort with LinkedIn or research tools
Onsite Requirement

This internship is 100% onsite in Prosper, Texas. It is not a remote or hybrid role. Sales is learned by being in the room - hearing live calls, watching demonstrations, and getting real-time coaching. Please apply only if you can commit to being in the office for the full internship period.

Schedule & Duration
  • Duration: [e.g., 12 weeks / Summer 2026 / Fall semester/ Annual] - flexible for the right candidate
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for conferences or customer events
  • Paid internship: $ as per industry standards
  • Company equipment and tools needed for the role
  • Direct mentorship from our commercial leadership
  • Exposure to surgeons, hospitals, universities, and global MedTech companies
  • Potential to convert to a full-time Sales Executive role based on performance and business needs
  • Academic credit available if your program requires it — we're happy to work with your school

Work Authorization

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. SurgeonsLab is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this internship. Employment eligibility will be verified through Form I-9.

Equal Employment Opportunity

SurgeonsLab is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. If you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, please let us know.

Why This Internship?

Most sales internships teach you how to update a spreadsheet. This one teaches you how to sell something genuinely difficult - advanced medical technology - to smart, demanding customers. You will learn faster here in a few months than in a year at a large company, because there is nowhere to hide on a small team.

  • If you want to build a career in sales and you learn fast, we'd like to hear from you.
