Job summary

BBI Logistics, LLC is seeking motivated students for its 11-week Sales Internship in Columbus or Tampa. You will gain hands-on logistics sales experience, training on our TMS, and mentorship from a senior Account Executive as you build a prospect list and participate in sales activities.

You will develop your skills in negotiation, customer communication, and problem solving in a fast-paced, office-based environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students (junior/senior) pursuing a bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Passionate and eager to learn about a career in sales.
• Capable of completing an 11-week program at Columbus or Tampa locations.
• Able to work in the office; no remote opportunities.
• Hardworking with a competitive spirit.
• Able to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain training on the logistics industry, BBI’s proprietary TMS, and tasks that set you up for success.
• Work with a sales team and Account Executive who will mentor you.
• Assist in managing freight movements and real-time problem solving using our TMS.
• Learn negotiation and customer/carrier communication; participate in role plays.
• Participate in cold calling and customer-based activities with sales trainers and brokers.
• Build a prospect list of potential customers during the internship.
• Collaborate with interns on volunteer activities and company events.
• Attend weekly company-wide sales board updates and sales competitions.

As a Sales Intern at BBI, you will gain hands‑on experience through extensive sales logistics training, providing support to your assigned mentor, and taking on more responsibility as the internship goes on. The summer internship program is crafted to elevate your sales skill set while also gaining industry knowledge. What you’ll be doing.

• Gain training on the logistics industry, BBI’s proprietary TMS, and operational tasks that will set you up for success throughout the program
• Work alongside a sales team and Account Executive that will be your assigned mentor throughout the summer
• Manage freight movement and problem solve in real time by utilizing our proprietary TMS software and your gained knowledge of the logistics industry
• Smile and dial! You will learn how to negotiate and communicate with customers and carriers
• Participate in cold calling and customer‑based role play activities with our sales trainers and brokers
• Build a prospect list of potential customers throughout the internship
• Collaborate with your fellow interns by participating in volunteer activities and company outings
• Get the chance every week to be on our company wide sales board
• Participate in our sales competition and earn the BBI Elite Sales Certificate, demonstrating your comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the full sales cycle
