This entry-level position in our Estimating track involves creating and managing estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Responsibilities include meeting with clients, developing competitive estimates using Xactimate, managing work through completion, reviewing budgets, and communicating progress with clients and management. Estimators will also review invoices and labor costs to ensure accurate job costing. Upon completing BELFOR training, candidates will attain the appropriate Estimator level.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with local clientele, primarily insurance adjusters, and also community businesses, schools, and municipalities.
- Create accurate floor plans in Xactimate Sketch.
- Have working knowledge of applicable building codes.
- Create and adhere to budgets, addressing overages promptly.
- Use BELFOR naming conventions for estimates, proposals, change orders, etc.
- Maintain construction schedules, coordinate with trades and management, and ensure timely project completion.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various remediation and cleaning techniques.
- Participate in BELFOR University training and pass relevant certification tests.
- Manage own work independently and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness.
- Complete all safety and incident reports promptly.
- Apply strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and comply with company policies.
Requirements
- Develop and maintain a client base, primarily with insurance adjusters.
- Serve as the primary contact with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop scope, negotiate, and finalize agreements.
- Use BELFOR estimate formatting standards.
- Coordinate emergency services as needed.
- Identify potential site hazards and act professionally at all times.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and work within timelines.
- Pay attention to detail and safeguard property and information.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English.
- Understanding of MSDS data sheets.
- Experience with customer service and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain professionalism.
