Job summary

Triple Whale is seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to drive technical strategy and close large opportunities. You will lead three SEs while personally handling the most challenging deals, balancing field work with team leadership.

You will coach, define SE workflows, and ensure rigorous discovery, demos, and pre-sale promises. A strong background in SQL, marketing attribution, and Shopify ecosystems is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in sales engineering or technical pre-sales roles.
• Experience coaching or mentoring SEs.
• Fluent SQL and marketing attribution knowledge (pixel-based, multi-touch, MMM).
• Based in the New York City area.
• Shopify ecosystem depth including headless/non-Shopify implementations.

Responsibilities

• Run technical discovery, POCs, and demos on large, competitive deals.
• Take escalations on technical and competitive objections from the team.
• Coach three SEs with regular 1:1s and structured call reviews.
• Define and document SE processes, discovery standards, and handoffs.
• Hire and ramp SEs as the team grows.
• Own the accuracy of pre-sale promises; coordinate with Solutions Architecture.
