Job summary

The Timken Company invites talented engineers to join its Sales Engineering Development Program in North Canton, OH. The program begins with a comprehensive six‑month training phase at the corporate headquarters and prepares you for future assignments in Timken’s sales offices across the United States.

Upon completion, you will manage a defined customer territory, applying your technical and commercial skills to solve client challenges with Timken’s capabilities, products and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Engineering internships/co-ops preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities, or during employment.
  • College graduate (December 2026 - May 2027).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a 6‑month training program based in Corporate Headquarters in North Canton, Ohio.
  • Placed into a sales office or territory and manage a portfolio of business.
  • Leverage technical and commercial expertise to solve customer challenges by offering The Timken Company's capabilities, products, and services.
  • Independently manage your customer territory including OEMs, distributors, and end users; travel within territory.

The Sales Engineering Development Program starts with a comprehensive 6‑month training program based in our Corporate Headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. Our training program is one of the most respected in the industry and prepares you for future success. Through classroom and on‑the‑job training, you will be exposed to all aspects of The Timken Company's businesses and value selling techniques.

Upon completion of the training program, you will be placed into one of our sales offices or territories within the United States. You will have responsibility for a portfolio of business where you will leverage your technical and commercial expertise to solve customer challenges by offering The Timken Company's capabilities, products, and services. You will independently manage your customer territory consisting of original equipment manufacturers, distributors, and end users. A key to success in this role is building strong relationships. This role offers flexibility and travel within your territory.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications
  • College graduate (December 2026 - May 2027).
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Engineering internships/co-ops preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities, or during employment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
