Job summary

Timken is seeking a Service Engineer through a 6-month training program based at our North Canton, Ohio headquarters. You will apply mechanical engineering knowledge to solve customer problems hands-on while learning from experienced teams across the organization.

Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, internships/co-ops, leadership experience, GPA 2.8+ and US work authorization.

  • Engineering internships/co-op preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities.
  • Ability to relocate.
  • GPA 2.8 or above.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and product support to internal and external customers.
  • Apply technical knowledge to solve customer problems hands-on.
  • Participate in a comprehensive 6-month training program at the North Canton, Ohio headquarters.
  • Collaborate with sales, quality, manufacturing and engineering teams to recognize customer needs and deliver solutions.

What is a Service Engineer?

The Service Engineering Development Program is responsible for providing engineering and product support to various internal and external customers. This position will allow you to apply your technical knowledge and expertise to solve our customer’s problems - hands-on.

Service engineers will participate in a comprehensive 6-month training program based at our Corporate Headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. Our training program is one of the most respected in the industry and prepares you for future success. Through classroom and on-the-job training, you will become the expert in the technical skills required to solve customer problems.

Upon completion of the training program, you will be placed into one of our regional offices or territories within the United States. You will work jointly with The Timken Company teams such as sales, quality, manufacturing, and engineering to recognize customer needs and solve challenges. You will be a trusted advisor for customers by identifying and understanding problems,providing solutions, promoting The Timken Company products, andconducting hands-on trainings as needed.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications:

  • College graduate (December 2026 – May 2027).
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree.
  • Engineering internships/co-op preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities.
  • Ability to relocate.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
