Job summary

TRITECH Communications, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer (Design Engineer) in the NYC area to bridge sales and engineering efforts.

The role focuses on pre-sales support for design/build proposals within the Structured Cabling division, collaborating with account managers to translate client needs into effective technical solutions. The position requires an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in electronics or engineering, IT experience, and CAD/Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s preferred in electronics, engineering, or similar field.
• Experience in the IT field required.
• BICSI certification highly encouraged.
• Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills.
• Be a self-starter, internally motivated to succeed and manage daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology design discussions with end users to understand goals and challenges to help achieve desired outcomes.
• Develop preliminary system design drawings, construction documents, equipment specifications and cost proposals.
• Create rough-order-of-magnitude budgets.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP and trades.
• Create sales proposals; send approved proposals to the client.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and design team.
• Work with Program Manager and Project Team to verify system functionality.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies.
• Provide sales and technical staff with lessons learned on pre and post sales basis.
• Work closely with AV and Security design engineers and other disciplines.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Engineer (Design Engineer) who will be responsible for providing pre-sales support to Sales and Technical staff for design/build proposals. As a Sales Design Engineer, you bridge the gap between sales and technology. You work closely with account managers to understand customer needs and prove how our products solve their problems. This position will be in our Structured Cabling division so experience in this industry is highly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with our business units and end users to lead the technology design and discussion, analyze current client technology, listen to goals and challenges to help achieve desired outcomes
• Lead the development of preliminary system design drawings, construction documents, equipment specifications and cost proposals.
• Create rough-order-of-magnitude budget
• Coordinate with architects, MEP and trades.

Accountability

The IT Design Engineer will be accountable to the EVP/GM for the NYC region.

• Associate’s Degree Required, Bachelor’s preferred in Electronics, Engineering, or similar field
• Experience in the IT field required
• BICSI certification highly encouraged
• Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills
• Be a self-starter, internally motivated to succeed, and able to effectively manage one’s own daily activities

Compensation
