Job summary

ANDRITZ is seeking an Applications Sales Engineer (ASE) for the Paper Machine Clothing segment in the Southwest region of Alabama. The role leads the regional papermachine clothing sales team, supports customers, and drives growth through on-site assistance and strategic territory management.

The ASE will conduct audits, service calls, and installations, maintaining strong customer relationships while forecasting sales and managing budgets. Regular travel within the region is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in industrial environments.
• Military background with relevant technical training and leadership experience is valued.
• Experience in customer service within manufacturing or factory operations is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with papermaking processes or industrial equipment is a plus.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing role with problem-solving and operational improvement.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly, quarterly, and yearly sales forecasting for designated area.
• Serve as frontline contact for day-to-day customer needs.
• Conduct paper machine audits and service calls.
• Communicate customer activity and sales opportunities to the Regional Sales Manager.
• Provide assistance with machine clothing installations and develop advisory capabilities.
• Take ownership of territory and devise strategies to meet sales objectives.
• Make in-mill repairs of machine clothing to keep operations running.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers through on-site support.
• Mitigate warranty exposure through early detection and prevention.
• Assist mills to set up records and value results platforms.
• Manage databases of customer paper machine clothing.
• Manage an expense budget within guidelines.
