Job summary

Newman Regency Group is seeking a Sales Engineer to own the full sales cycle within Oklahoma, engaging with consulting engineers, treatment-plant personnel, and contractors. This is an outside sales role requiring in-person consultations, demonstrations, and problem-solving with customers.

You will travel to customer sites, prepare technical estimates, and ensure equipment meets system requirements while maintaining product knowledge across lines represented by the company.

Qualifications

  • Two years of manufactured equipment sales in water and wastewater.
  • Experience working with consulting engineers and end users.
  • Willing to travel within Oklahoma; some out-of-state travel for training and meetings.

  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts.

Newman Regency Group, a UFT company professionally represents top-tier manufacturers in the water and wastewater industry providing engineered solutions designed to preserve our most valuable resource.

As a Sales Engineer, you will take ownership of the entire sales cycle and be focused on developing new business within an assigned territory as well as retaining and developing business with existing customers. The Sales Engineer position is an outside sales role requiring you to meet and be comfortable conversing with consulting engineers, treatment plant-level personnel, and contractors. Plant level or direct sales activities require in-person consultation, demonstration, and problem‑solving skills.

What you’ll do:
  • Prospect, develop and close new business with new and existing customers
  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
  • Regularly travel to perform customer consultations to determine needs and solutions and obtain detailed information for estimates and proposals
  • Maintain involvement on turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other related customer projects to meet deadlines
  • Attend product and selling skills seminars and participate in local industry associations and tradeshows
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and product lines represented by the company
  • Utilize CRM for all prospecting and customer activities
  • Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work
  • Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements
  • Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary
  • Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery
  • Establish customer rapport and acceptance
  • Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands
  • Help clients to solve problems with product usage
  • Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective
What you bring:
  • Two (2) years experience with manufactured equipment sales in the water and wastewater markets
  • Experience includes working with consulting engineers and end users
  • Comfortable traveling in Oklahoma. Infrequent out of State travel for training and sales meetings with manufacturers
  • BS/BA in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience
  • Strong professional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a results-based environment
  • Mechanical/ technical aptitude
  • Previous experience using CRM softwarei>
  • Valid driver’s lice
