Job summary

Role Description

The Sales Engineer & Estimator – Security Systems is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Diego Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for engaging with prospective and existing clients to understand their security requirements, conducting site visits, and translating technical needs into accurate proposals and estimates. Daily activities include preparing technical designs and system layouts, creating detailed cost estimates, and presenting solutions that align with customer objectives and ESS standards. The role also involves coordinating with internal technical teams, providing pre-sales technical support, responding to customer inquiries, and assisting with bids and RFP responses. The individual will maintain thorough documentation, track opportunities in the sales pipeline, and support ongoing customer relationships to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.


Qualifications


  • Candidates should possess strong Sales Engineering and Technical Support skills for designing solutions and assisting customers with technical inquiries.

  • Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to interact with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders in a clear, professional manner.

  • Candidates should possess solid Sales skills to identify opportunities, present solutions, and support the closing of new business.

  • Experience with electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection) and system integration is highly beneficial.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and building plans; proficiency with estimation tools or related software is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in costing and proposals.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in security systems or low-voltage industries.

  • Capacity to work on-site at customer locations in the San Diego Metropolitan Area, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as needed.
