Sales Engineer (Growth & Expansion Focus)

Location: United States (Remote)

Our client — a fast-scaling cybersecurity startup — is seeking a Sales Engineer to support their expanding GTM efforts. This is a customer-facing role where you’ll partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to drive pre-sales engagements, accelerate deal cycles, and help identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle, from discovery through proof-of-concept and onboarding.
  • Deliver tailored product demos, technical deep-dives, and solution architecture guidance to cybersecurity buyers.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and CSMs to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities based on customer needs.
  • Translate complex customer requirements into actionable feedback for Product and Engineering teams.
  • Support GTM initiatives by refining sales enablement materials and technical positioning in the field.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Pre-Sales experience within cybersecurity startups or early-stage companies.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity solutions, threat landscapes, and technical buyer personas.
  • Proven ability to build strong technical relationships with both practitioners and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting growth initiatives, including expansion and upsell within existing customers.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills — able to simplify complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
  • Highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and able to thrive in a fast-paced GTM environment.
