We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join a fast-growing payments team. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, trust and safety, and customer success, offering the opportunity to directly impact platform security, reliability, and innovation in a high-volume transaction environment.

This is a hands‑on “player-coach” role (90% individual contributor, 10% leadership), ideal for a technical expert who thrives in fast‑paced, startup-like environments.

What You’ll Do

Guard the Platform: Monitor transactions for chargeback risk, fraud, and collusion. Make critical decisions on fund holds, refunds, and onboarding reserves.
Build Infrastructure: Own KYC (Know Your Customer) and payout flows, designing extensible systems via APIs.
Content Moderation: Maintain a high‑trust environment by combating spam and scams.
Drive Innovation: Execute A/B experiments on checkout flows and KYC setups; contribute to future capabilities such as Banking-as-a-Service, debit card issuance, and crypto bridging.
Customer Interface: Act as a technical expert for high-value customers and partners, ensuring clear and rapid resolution of technical needs.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 4–10 years as a Sales Engineer, Forward‑Deployed Engineer, or Customer Engineer in payments or fintech.
Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Next.js, TypeScript, and SQL.
