Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as the technical expert for professional audio products and technologies.
- Provide technical sales support to customers, consultants, dealers, distributors, and representatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with AV systems designers and key industry partners.
- Support Regional Sales Managers in achieving territory objectives.
- Conduct pre-sales site surveys and customer consultations.
- Deliver customer presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
- Review and validate sound system designs developed by the design team.
- Provide loudspeaker modeling and acoustic design guidance using EASE or similar platforms.
- Program and support professional audio DSP systems.
- Assist with system commissioning and deployment.
- Provide Tier II technical support and help train the internal support team.
- Gather Voice of Customer feedback for product development initiatives.
- Participate in alpha and beta testing of new products.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams on new product launches.
- Travel throughout North America to support customer projects and technical sales initiatives.
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, AV Technology, Acoustics, Electronics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of technical sales experience within the Professional AV industry.
- Strong background in commercial audio, professional audio, and systems integration environments.
- Experience supporting distributors, contractors, consultants, and end-user customers.
- Strong experience with system design, installation, commissioning, and customer-facing technical sales support.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (required).
- Experience with acoustic modeling software such as EASE or similar platforms.
- Experience programming professional audio DSP platforms such as Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar systems.
- Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or comparable CAD software preferred.
- Proven ability to present technical information to large audiences and customer groups.
- Strong relationship-building skills with consultants, designers, and integration partners.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel 50%+ throughout North America.
- Ability to work from the San Clemente, CA office when not traveling.
- Previous commercial AV design experience is required.
