Davalyn Corporation is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support CNC milling, turning, and drilling applications across West Tennessee. You will work with machine shops, engineers, and production teams to optimize tooling and processes, while driving customer-focused solutions.

The role involves on-site customer visits, technical training, and close collaboration with internal teams to ensure successful project implementation and productivity gains.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Davalyn Corporation has been retained to fill a Technical Sales Engineer opportunity with a leading manufacturer in the metal cutting and machining industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused professional with experience supporting CNC machining operations, tooling applications, and manufacturing environments.

This territory-based role supports customers across aerospace, automotive, medical device, energy, and general industrial manufacturing markets throughout West Tennessee and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will work directly with machine shops, manufacturing engineers, CNC programmers, and production teams to improve machining performance, optimize tooling applications, and support productivity initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with carbide cutting tools, CNC machining processes, and metalworking applications, along with the ability to provide both technical support and consultative sales guidance to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical sales and application engineering support for customers involved in CNC milling, turning, drilling, and precision machining operations
• Responsible for medical accounts in Western Tennessee
• Recommend tooling solutions based on customer machining requirements, production goals, material specifications, and application challenges
• Support customers with tooling selection, process optimization, cycle time reduction, and tool life improvement initiatives
• Work closely with machinists, manufacturing engineers, programmers, and shop leadership to troubleshoot machining and production issues
• Assist customers in improving machining efficiency through optimized cutting parameters, tooling strategies, and application support
• Conduct on-site customer visits to evaluate machining operations and identify opportunities for productivity improvements
• Coordinate with internal engineering and commercial teams to ensure successful implementation of customer projects and tooling solutions
• Deliver technical training related to machining applications, cutting tool performance, and manufacturing processes
• Support distributors and end users with product recommendations and application guidance
• Build long-term customer relationships through responsive technical support and strong industry knowledge
• Stay current with developments in CNC machining technologies, CAD/CAM systems, and modern manufacturing practices

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining Technology, or a related technical field
• Hands-on experience within CNC machining, metalworking, cutting tools, or manufacturing operations
• Strong understanding of machining applications involving carbide tooling, indexable tooling, or solid carbide cutting tools
• Candidates who began their careers in CNC machining or shop floor manufacturing environments are highly valued.
• Experience supporting production machining environments and solving technical manufacturing challenges
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming concepts
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, machinists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
• Valid driver’s license required
• Base salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus commission estimated to be $24,000 to $48,000 annually
