Job description

Your Title: Sales Engineer

Job Location: Remote, US

Our Department: AECO

The sales engineer is a member of the sales team responsible for providing pre-sale technical software solution demonstrations. Trimble offers enterprise-level software solutions to the commercial construction industry across the United States and internationally. This position entails presenting expertise and delivering solution-based demonstrations to support the sales team and company objectives.

What You Will Do

As a Sales Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise through engaging sales presentations, dynamic product demonstrations, and assisting with product installation and maintenance. Collaborate with our sales team to evaluate how our products meet customer needs and develop detailed product specifications to facilitate customer solutions. You may also create quick prototype applications to showcase our offerings' potential, often involving rapid prototyping and client demos. Your responsibilities include delivering inspirational presentations, conducting complex prototype demonstrations, and providing follow-up support during the sales process. You will work closely with sales management and the direct and customer sales teams to ensure accurate representation of Trimble products and effectively address client questions or concerns.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the Trimble AECO Sales Team with sales presentations and demonstrations.
  2. Consulting with prospects to identify the best software solutions for their business.
  3. Documenting and solving critical business issues through the discovery process.
  4. Communicating construction industry experience, focusing on major workflows in project management and field solutions.
  5. Understanding how construction companies collect, manage data, set KPIs, and improve decision-making.
  6. Having prior experience in a pre-sales role or similar customer success position (preferred).
  7. Motivating team members to perform optimally.
  8. Exercising good judgment in undefined situations and business challenges.
  9. Documenting product functionality requirements and workflow outcomes.
  10. Exhibiting excellent communication skills, listening effectively, and actively seeking feedback.
  11. Adapting to environmental changes, managing demands, and handling unexpected events.
  12. Handling confidential information with discretion and good judgment.
  13. Representing Trimble with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
  14. Using extensive industry and software knowledge to present critical success factors.
  15. Managing complex client-specific prototype presentations.
  16. Assisting with demonstration and deployment strategies across workflow solutions.
  17. Documenting process gaps, product issues, and maintaining knowledge bases and sales tools.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  1. Extensive knowledge of Vista / Vista Web, project management, or field entry solutions (required).
  2. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus experience in software implementation, consulting, or equivalent.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Deep construction industry experience and understanding of document workflows.
  5. Willingness to travel up to 25%, with valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to qualify for a US Passport.
  6. Experience with or training in Trimble ERP Software or other construction-specific ERP solutions (preferred).
