As a Regional Sales Engineer, you will lead strategic sales targeting large industrial and municipal accounts with multiple influencers in your assigned geographic territory. This highly autonomous role requires strong business acumen, planning skills, and the ability to implement strategic sales plans. Your role is essential for high customer satisfaction and ensuring Hach’s solutions are effectively presented. You will manage the entire Hach product portfolio, from instrumentation and reagents to fully integrated solutions and services.

This position is field-based, with minimal reporting to the office for administrative tasks. The territory covers the Western Cape; it is preferable if you are located in the Cape Town region.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Developing sales territory and account plans to meet targets, utilizing SFDC, reporting results and funnel health during weekly reviews with your manager. Using Hach tools and systems to drive growth

  • Preparing and presenting monthly forecasts by accurately managing opportunities

  • Visiting at least 10 clients per week to translate strategy into action and solve customer problems. Building a network of contacts in the water management community within your territory

  • Understanding the Hach portfolio and applications, including quoting, follow-up, and general sales activities. Ability to work across various applications (WWTW, DW, Power, Oil & Gas, F&B)

The essential requirements include:

  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably in the analytical instrumentation industry as a sales associate

  • Preferred degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work collaboratively across cultures, countries, locations, and teams

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel long distances and stay overnight (2-3 nights per month when required)

  • Own vehicle with a Code B license
