Job description

Sales Locations: Seattle, Washington; Denver, Colorado; Memphis, Tennessee; Austin, Texas; New York, New York

The LATAM Sales Director role will work on all accounts in the region to secure renewals, work on RFPs, prepare demos, and assist in developing relationships with mobile operators, regulators, and related telecom customers. With an understanding of the telecom landscape, the Sales Director will assist in penetrating new customers as well as deepen working relationships across technical and procurement organizations at all regional customers.

Expectations for Success
  1. Responsible for the sales activities with existing Ookla clients.
  2. Act as client’s primary point for contract renewals and negotiations.
  3. Demonstrate product offerings and value proposition to customers via web or in-person meetings.
  4. Actively develop and grow relationships across your customer’s business and technical organizations.
  5. Educate and support our clients to ensure optimum utilization of our product suite.
  6. Provide sales support to a customer base that consists mostly of seasoned technical, engineers, marketing, legal, and procurement staff.
  7. Engage with Director and C-Level executives in support of their business needs.
  8. Partner internally with the technical account management team and sales directors to periodically review account health and identify opportunities for future growth within your accounts.
  9. Champion and advocate for customer requirements within Ookla by being the customer’s voice internally.
  10. Continually develop your own knowledge and application of new technologies to support and enable growth of our customers.
Requirements
  1. Fluent in Spanish and English.
  2. Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support client engagements.
  3. Experience in the Telecommunications market (fixed and/or mobile networks, access) and understanding trends specifically in the Andean region in Latin America.
  4. At least 3 years’ experience in a Sales or Business Development role working with companies such as Tigo, Movistar, Claro, WOM, Entel, ETB, and others.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate across all levels of internal and client organizations within diverse global markets.
  6. Strategic account planning and execution skills.
  7. Responsible, able to manage time effectively and work efficiently, both with and without direct supervision.
  8. Experience with negotiation of sales contracts with a consultative sales approach.
  9. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  10. Experience with crowdsourcing, benchmarking, or customer experience management is a plus.
  11. Fluent in Portuguese is a plus.

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Ookla provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000 a year up to $140,000 a year.
