Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate opportunity open for a Regional Sales Director for the Eastern US! This will be a remote work position, with residency within this region required in the Eastern US, ideally near Philadelphia, PA, or Virginia Beach, VA. Required travel for this position is up to 50%.

The Regional Sales Director is responsible for overall sales performance within a specific geography. The Regional Sales Director is charged with implementing sales development programs, both short and long term, targeted toward existing and new markets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services and implements strategic marketing and sales plans.
  • Acts as the primary Coach and Mentor, in person, for salespeople in the territory.
  • Ensures all opportunities in the territory are in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and up to date.
  • Provides frequent gap analysis and corrective action for field sales activity against company KPI’s.
  • Develops and manages sales operating budgets.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Assists Marketing with planning advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to Marketing and Engineering to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Evaluates market research and adjusts sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
  • Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Acts as liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Manages and directs subordinate employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Experience

  • Five-plus years of experience in sales and marketing leading a team
  • Five-plus years of related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities
  • Vacuum or rotating industrial capital equipment experience: Highly Preferred
  • High degree of technical/mechanical proficiency and aptitude
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree: Highly Preferred
    • Preferred Field of Study: Engineering or Business
    • Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Computer skills:
    • Intermediate knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software: Required
    • CRM, ERP experience: Required, SAP experience: Preferred

  • Self-driven, organized, and dependable
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with co-management, internal and external customers

Job Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Ability and willingness to pass a 9-panel drug screen and 7-year criminal history check.
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE, as needed
  • Must maintain a current valid driver’s license throughout employment
Physical Requirements

  • Constant speaking
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
  • Occasional reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection
