About us
At Spin, recruitment is about more than filling roles; it’s about creating real human connections. Together with TLNT, our nearshore talent service, we help growing U.S. companies build their teams — and this time, the seat we’re filling is on our own team.
TLNT Group
helps companies hire two ways: TLNT, dedicated full-time nearshore talent from Latin America, and Spin, U.S. and Canadian direct-hire recruiting through an innovative monthly membership model. We’ve served over 500 clients and run a lean, technology-forward operation.
We’re hiring a Director of Sales to turn a founder-led sales motion into a scalable revenue organization. Reporting directly to our Founder and CEO, you’ll inherit 2 to 4 Account Executives and grow each seat into a repeatable revenue- and profit-generating position, launch an independent agent channel, stand up a partnerships function — and bring in new business yourself.
This is a builder role, and a hands-on one. You’ve done it before in HR services or HR tech; you know how founders, CFOs, and HR leaders buy, and you still like to work deals, run call reviews, and live in the CRM. Strategy matters here, but execution is the job.
What You'll Do
- Lead and scale the team
- Recruit, onboard, and ramp Account Executives, building a hiring profile and interview process that repeatedly finds top performers
- Coach through deal reviews and call reviews; set quotas, territories, and lead routing
- Hold a high bar on performance and act quickly when someone is not working out
- Build the channels
- Design, recruit, and manage a network of independent sales agents, including commission structure, deal registration, and enablement
- Hire and lead the Partnerships Manager; set partner strategy and make sure partner-sourced leads are worked fast and tracked to revenue
- Develop outbound, referral, and account expansion motions across our client base
- Be TLNT's face in the market: build relationships with founders, CEOs, CFOs and HR leaders through business communities, peer groups, and 1:1 meetings
- Own events end to end
- Partner with marketing on which conferences, trade shows, and community events to attend, sponsor, or host, based on expected return
- Run the full event cycle: pre-event targeting and meeting booking, on-site execution, and structured follow-up that turns badge scans into pipeline
- Report results per event so the calendar improves every quarter
- Use AI and automation for research, prospecting, personalization, call notes, and CRM hygiene, so reps spend their time selling
- Own the sales stack (HubSpot and supporting tools) and keep data clean enough to forecast from
- Continuously test and measure: messaging, channels, sequences, pricing presentation
- Set strategy with the CEO
- Shape go-to-market across TLNT and Spin, including ICP, packaging, and positioning
- Work with the CEO and our Head of Marketing to plan campaigns and outreach, align on target accounts and messaging, and bring what sales is hearing in the market so every campaign is built to generate pipeline
- Forecast accurately and bring the CEO decisions, not just updates
- Collaborate on Delivery Strategy:
- Partner with the Head of Talent across the full client lifecycle: qualify deals on feasibility, review client data and hiring behavior together, and keep the forecast updated as searches progress. Make sure your team stays aligned with Talent and owns the commercial relationship throughout the recruiting process, stepping in on blockers and account alignment so clients stay engaged well beyond kickoff.
What You Bring
- 7+ years in B2B sales in HR services or HR technology (PEO, EOR, staffing, recruiting, payroll, benefits, HR tech), with at least 3 years leading quota-carrying teams.
- Proof you’ve built, not just inherited: first hires, first playbook, a team grown from a handful of reps — with the headcount and revenue numbers to show for it.
- A channel you built yourself — agents, referral partners, resellers or alliances — and the numbers: partners signed, deals closed, share of revenue.
- A track record of events as a pipeline source, with cost, meetings, pipeline, and revenue per event.
- Hands‑on fluency with modern sales tools and AI: you can name the tools you use and what each one does for you.
- You’ve personally hired and let go of AEs, and you can explain how you decide — and how fast.
- Comfort selling to founders, CEOs, CFOs, and HR leaders at small and mid‑market companies.
- A doer’s track record: things you built, launched, or fixed yourself, and times you moved a number fast without waiting for permission. You push back on a founder, drive to a decision, and thrive without layers of support.
Nice to Have
- Experience with nearshore or offshore staffing, EOR, or recruiting services.
- An existing network of HR tech, PEO, broker, or payroll partners.
- Experience in a founder-led company scaling past its first sales leader.
What Success Looks Like at 12 Months
- Every AE is ramped or replaced, and you’ve hired at least four new producing AEs with a documented hiring profile and interview process.
- Sales no longer runs through the CEO. The team runs its own deals from first meeting to close, using a written playbook.
- A forecast we can run the business on. Clean HubSpot, weekly pipeline reviews, a dependable monthly forecast.
- Agent and partner channels are live, with the first agents signed and sourcing, the Partnerships Manager hired, and partner leads tracked to closed revenue.
- Events pay for themselves, with meetings, pipeline, and revenue reported per event every quarter.
Salary & Perks
- Location: Hybrid in Pasadena, CA, or remote on Pacific Time (PST) hours.

- This is a full-time, long-term position.
