Job Summary:
Are you a recent graduate or an ambitious individual ready to launch your career in the exciting world of sales? Wiretap Telecom is seeking a motivated and energetic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team! This entry-level position is a fantastic launchpad, offering you the chance to learn the ropes from the ground up, directly support a Senior Sales Executive, and spearhead our lead generation efforts. We're looking for someone hungry to learn and grow, with a clear development path towards a salary plus commission Senior Sales Representative role. This is a full-time, hourly, fully remote position where you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and generate new sales leads for Wiretap Telecom's services through various methods, including online research, industry databases, professional networking, and other creative channels.
- Initiate first contact with potential leads and existing customers via compelling emails and professional phone calls to introduce our communication solutions.
- Qualify leads according to defined criteria and nurture them through the initial stages of the sales funnel.
- Diligently manage and update customer and lead information in our CRM system and other sales-related software.
- Assist in the scheduling of demos, creation and delivery of accurate quotes and sales proposals for telecom services under the guidance of the Senior Sales Executive.
- Conduct timely and effective follow-up calls and emails to nurture leads, schedule meetings, and support the sales process.
- Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Senior Sales Executive, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, preparing reports, and organizing sales materials.
- Collaborate with the sales team to refine lead generation strategies, improve sales processes, and achieve team targets.
- Perform other sales support duties as necessary to assist the senior sales staff.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- No college degree required! We welcome applications from recent college graduates looking for their first big opportunity, as well as entry-level candidates who are passionate about starting a sales career.
- A strong desire to learn, a can-do attitude, and a hunger for success are more important than extensive prior experience.
- While previous exposure to sales, lead generation, or customer service (especially in telecom/tech) is a plus, it is not a prerequisite. We will train the right candidate!
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with people.
- Coachable, with a willingness to absorb feedback and continuously improve.
- Strong organizational skills and a good level of attention to detail.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Excel, Email) is expected. Experience with CRM software is a bonus.
- Must have a dedicated, quiet, and professional remote work area with reliable high-speed internet access.
- Ability to consistently work a full-time schedule (e.g., 8 AM - 5 PM or 9 AM - 6 PM, specific timezone to be aligned with team needs, likely Central or Eastern Time).
- Must be a current resident of and legally authorized to work in one of the following states: Oklahoma, Illinois, Kansas, or Florida.
