The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth for the APA Publishing sales team. This role involves relationship sales and owning initial phases of potential new relationships with institutional clients. The SDR focuses on generating new business opportunities by handling inbound inquiries and identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential customers. Responsibilities include creating and managing leads through the sales pipeline, outreach via various channels, qualifying leads based on buyer personas, informing prospects about APA Publishing products, setting up product trials or meetings, and transferring qualified prospects to the Senior Relationship Manager.

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3 years in B2B client-facing roles, including relationship-based sales, customer service, or account management; publishing experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with online resources for higher education students
  • Knowledge of Account Based Marketing (ABM)
  • Experience nurturing Marketing Qualified Leads to sales opportunities

Responsibilities
  • New Sales Lead Generation: Collaborate on marketing campaigns and prospect lists, manage SLAs from lead qualification to opportunity creation.
  • Lead Acknowledgement and Processing: Ensure leads are properly aligned, connected, and fully rendered in SFDC, and assess viability.
  • Lead to Opportunity Conversion: Contact prospects, identify decision influences, set up trials, gather data, and convert leads to opportunities following guidelines.
  • Sales Team Collaboration: Work with sales to ensure smooth transition, including opportunity timelines and quote requests.
