Job summary

TeachTown is seeking a Sales Development Representative to identify and screen potential customers for our education solutions. You will research leads, initiate relationships with decision makers, and set up Account Executives for success in the K-12 market.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and a proven ability to meet or exceed performance goals while working in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Salesforce, cold calls, emails, social media and other communication channels to meet and exceed a set number of new sales opportunities per month
  • Meet and exceed an agreed upon number of meetings per month with special education decision makers
  • Identify gaps keeping prospects from achieving their district goals and suggest appropriate products and services
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the K-12 education market, including conducting engaging sales conversations to understand client needs, showcasing value, and converting leads into qualified opportunities
  • Create strategic prospecting cadences using cold calls, email, social media and other channels for conferences, events and lead-generating activities TeachTown supports
  • Create compelling written and digital content in partnership with Marketing for the Sales team to use at events and email outreach
  • Create and maintain account, contact and opportunity records in Salesforce
  • Actively learn TeachTown’s business, clients, and sales process on a consistent basis

Job description

TeachTown, an Everway company, is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments. Our growing team of professionals is seeking a qualified Sales Development Representative (SDR) to find and screen potential customers who could benefit from our products and services. As the first line of communication with a prospect, the ideal SDR has a strong understanding of the sales process and excels at researching leads, starting new relationships with decision makers, and setting up Account Executives (AE) or Account Managers (AM) for success. The SDR should be curious, a quick learner, have strong communication skills and an ability to showcase our offering in a compelling and relevant way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Salesforce, cold calls, emails, social media and other communication channels to meet and exceed a set number of new sales opportunities per month
  • Meet and exceed an agreed upon number of meeting per month with special education decision makers
  • Identify the gaps keeping prospects from achieving their district goals and suggest appropriate products and services to help them achieve their desired state
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the K‑12 education market, this includes and is not limited to: conducting engaging sales conversations to understand client needs, showcasing the value of our solutions, and converting leads into qualified opportunities
  • Create strategic prospecting cadences to include cold calls, email, social media and other communication channels for conference attendance, company events and other lead generating activities that TeachTown supports
  • Create compelling written and digital content in partnership with the Marketing team for the Sales team to use at events and email outreach
  • Create and maintain account, contact and opportunity records in Salesforce.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn the TeachTown business, our clients and our sales process on a consistent basis

Basic Requirements:

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience prioritizing and managing time effectively
  • A curiosity for understanding the special education industry as well as various sales processes and methodologies
  • A strong history of meeting and exceeding measurable performance goals
  • A strong history of showing a growth mindset that thrives in a culture of coaching, feedback, and encourages self reflection and personal development
  • A history for delivering results, working within a “team first” environment
  • The ability to persevere and overcome objection to achieve long term goals

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated success with cold prospecting activities, such as fundraising, sales, or recruiting
  • Experience with prospecting and cold calling

Work Authorization:

  • US Work Authorization is required.
