Job description

Job Title: Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Reports To: VP of Sales

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: In-office; Bonita Springs, FL

Territory: Coast to Coast

About Alpha Drive AI

Alpha Drive AI is an AI-powered call handling and appointment-setting platform built for automotive dealerships. Our technology answers, qualifies, and converts inbound and outbound dealership calls at scale, on the service drive and beyond, and our team supports roughly 300 active rooftops across the country. We are in a high-growth phase, expanding our sales organization across new territories every month. Call handling is the single biggest bottleneck standing between a dealership's service lane and the revenue sitting inside it, and our reps carry that message directly to the people who feel that bottleneck every day: Dealer Principals, GMs, GSMs, and Fixed Operations Directors.

Position Summary

The Sales Development Representative is the front end of Alpha Drive AI's revenue engine. This role exists to Drive High Quality Activity (DHQA): consistent, high-quality outreach that produces a steady flow of confirmed, well-qualified meetings for our Account Executives, not just calendar invites. The SDR is responsible for generating qualified appointments with dealership decision-makers, and delivering those appointments in a state where they are confirmed, informed, and likely to close.

This is a high-activity, high-accountability role. Success is measured in completed meetings, not dials, not conversations, and not calendar invites. The standard is a meeting that happens, with a decision-maker who shows up expecting to be there.

Core Responsibilities
1. Territory Ownership & Outbound Prospecting
  • Partner with Account Executives (AE) to divide and prioritize territory coverage so outreach never overlaps or leaves gaps
  • Execute daily outbound calling, email, and social outreach against assigned dealership territories and target account lists
  • Meet the minimum activity standard of 125 net-new contacts acquired and loaded into HubSpot per week
  • Work assigned lists in full; cherry-picking accounts or ceasing dials before the prescribed attempt cadence is a performance issue, not a judgment call
  • Participate in West Coast evening calling blocks as scheduled to reach decision-makers in Pacific and Mountain time zones
  • Research every account before dialing: rooftop count, brand mix, group affiliation, current vendor stack, and known pain points
  • Own a share of ongoing account and contact-data scrubbing for the territory, carrying a larger share of this than the AE
  • Run outreach across all three channels for every target stakeholder in an account: email, LinkedIn, and cold calling
  • Every dealership or dealer group has multiple key decision-makers; every role gets touched, every quarter, not just the easiest contact to reach
  • Work every stakeholder in a company before moving to the next account, in this order: Fixed Operations Director -> General Sales Manager / Service Manager -> General Manager / Dealer Principal -> Additional group executive(s)
3. Qualification and Meeting Setting
  • Qualify prospects against ADAI's ideal customer profile before setting a meeting; a meeting with the wrong person is worse than no meeting
  • Identify and confirm the prospect's role, authority, and scope, specifically including the number of rooftops a Fixed Operations Director or group executive represents
  • Set meetings on the correct AE's calendar according to territory assignment
  • Document the account, contact, critical event, and stated pain in HubSpot at the time the meeting is set, not after the fact
  • Hand off to the AE with a written brief covering who is attending, what was said, why they agreed to meet, and what they expect to get out of it
4. Meeting Confirmation Protocol

This is a defined, non-optional process.

  • Begin confirmation 24 to 36 hours before scheduled meeting time
  • Text message confirmation before the scheduled meeting or more
  • Obtain either a verbal confirmation by phone or a written email confirmation from the contact stating they plan to attend; a calendar accept alone is not a confirmation
  • Continue confirmation attempts until a verbal or email confirmation is obtained, or until the meeting time passes
  • Log the confirmation, method, date, time, and contact name, in HubSpot on the associated record
  • Notify the assigned AE immediately if a meeting cannot be confirmed, needs to be rescheduled, or if the attendee list changes
5. No-Show Recovery

A no-show is a rescheduling problem, not a lost account.

  • Begin calling any no-show contact the same day the missed meeting was scheduled
  • Continue calling that contact one to two times per day for 30 days, or until the meeting is rescheduled and held, or until the contact affirmatively disqualifies themselves
  • Log every no-show recovery attempt in HubSpot; unlogged attempts are treated as attempts that did not occur
  • Escalate patterns, repeat no-shows at the same account or a rising no-show rate on a particular list or message, to the VP of Sales
  • Maintain accurate, current, and complete records in HubSpot for every contact, account, activity, and meeting
  • Ensure meeting outcomes are dispositioned accurately and promptly
  • Submit accurate data for weekly pipeline and activity review
7. Collaboration, Coaching & Weekly Rhythm
  • Present in the weekly sales team meeting
  • Attend weekly 1:1 with sales leadership: bring your scorecard and be ready to be coached on emails, tactics, cold-call execution, multi-threading, and territory/list scrubbing
  • Partner closely with AEs on territory strategy, messaging, and account prioritization
  • Accept and act on coaching from call recordings and automated QA scoring
  • Apply the Challenger methodology to outbound conversations: teach, tailor, take control
Ramp & Performance Management

New SDRs are given a 90-day ramp period from their start date. During ramp, the SDR is expected to build territory knowledge, master the ADAI value proposition, and progressively increase completed meeting volume. Commission is earned in full during ramp: ramp affects performance management, not pay.

At the end of each month during the ramp period, you and your manager will review progress, strengths, and opportunities. If you are not delivering the key metrics of the role, we begin intensified coaching.

Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of outbound sales development, inside sales, telemarketing, or high-volume phone-based customer contact experience
  • Demonstrated comfort with cold calling and handling rejection at volume, a mindset built to be told no 100 times in a day and still make the 101 call to secure the meeting
  • HubSpot proficiency, contact and company records, activity logging, sequences, and task management; this is a hard requirement, not a preference
  • Business acumen: clear, confident, professional phone presence and written communication
  • The ability to work a consistent full-time schedule including scheduled evening blocks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience selling or setting appointments for a SaaS or subscription product
  • Familiarity with dealership org structure and the roles of Dealer Principal, GM, GSM, and Fixed Operations Director
  • Exposure to Challenger, SPICED, or similar structured sales methodologies
