Job summary

Emerson in Austin, TX is seeking a Sales Development Manager to shape the next generation of NI talent by expanding our Sales Development program, coaching college graduates and experienced SDEs, and instilling sales and technical best practices.

You will lead through coaching, develop career paths with regional plans, and partner across Sales, Applications Engineering, Customer Operations, Technical Support, Field Marketing, and Product Marketing to build a diverse, high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of successful sales or sales management experience at National Instruments or a comparable company.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science, or relevant technical experience.
• Ability to work in Austin, Texas and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor the SDE team through an ongoing cadence to refine skills and hit targets.
• Foster continuous learning and development, sharing best practices and professional growth.
• Connect with the broader NI organization including Sales, Applications Engineering, Customer Operations, Technical Support, Field Marketing, and Product Marketing.
• Support creation and implementation of individual business plans aligned with regional accounts.
• Facilitate technical growth across products, solutions, and business units.
• Maintain partnership with Marketing to improve lead performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate business outcomes and engagement.
• Build trust with employees and act as a career guide after the SDE role.
• Build university relationships, identify new SDEs, and hire the next generation of NI talent.
